Earlier this week, we had our boiler serviced and the engineer said there was a small leak, which was found to be rain coming in where the boiler pipe goes through the roof.

We went on line and found a couple of names in CheckaTrade and contacted them. Neither could come until next Wednesday at the earliest. One man came out yesterday and sent us a quote yesterday evening; the figure was £380 and he said he could do it on Sunday - (heavy rain is forecast)

Brian also spoke to a man our brother in law recommended and he came round earlier this morning. He has now fixed the problem (a small quantity of lead flashing and piece of felt were used) and he charged us £80. He also told Brian that the quoted figure was nothing short of a rip-off and wondered how he could justify that amount.

We now know a very good roofer who we will have no hesitation in recommending in the future.
