Flu jab today, blanket testing tomorrow.

That only leaves the Winter Fuel Payment and the Christmas Festivities will be over!

I've been told it's best not to have my flu jab until I've had the steroid injection in my thigh. Apparently the two don't mix!

Hope to get it done sometime before Christmas.

Last Thursday, my flu jab had to be postponed because I had a streaming cold, one of these short sharp ones. Sudden start, sudden finish as I threw all the remedies at it. Had to sing for a wedding on Saturday. Bride was 40 minutes late!!!

New apptmt for flu jab this Friday then straight off to sing at a funeral.

Have to agree with Penny, Varmin.

Funerals an be cold and depressing things when your resistance is already low.

Thank you both. But it is all in day's work after doing them for 35 years. Weddings are nicer, of course, but very few are taking place now, owing to 'relationships' alternative. But if I take a grotty turn I shall call on a prop! :sunglasses:

Failed! My blanket failed its safety test. Luckily I've got a spare.

Then the ATM wouldn't work so I was short of cash (we only have two, a mile apart).

To cap it all I went to my favourite restaurant to have a "comfort" lunch and it was dreadful, worst meal I'd ever had there, and generated my first complaint.

Well Laurie, you did have a bad one,so perhaps today will be a turning point and things get better. I hope so as I too had a bad day. In fact this morning is not yet off to a good start so fingers crossed for all. Millions worse off than us. Have A Good Day Laurie. See if that helps. Cheers Penny.

Thanks Penny.

Good prospect - forecast maximum 9 degrees! That's more like it.

As you say, plenty would willingly swap places.

Good for you Laurie. Still trying to cheer myself up. Roasting lamb often feel like jumping in the oven with it. Only joking of course. Talking of meals, a new one in Sainsbury's, bought it by chance last week and hubby can.t stop praising it. Even suggested to our son to buy some whilst his wife and daughter are in Turkey. Thought it might be of interest. Hubby has asked me to put six on my list for this week. First time ever. Called. ... Taste the difference...British Steak hash in London Porter Gravy. Only snag it has to be oven cooked for 30. Mins. Worth a try if you are interested. Take care and have a good day. Cheers Penny

Thanks Penny, I'll look out for it.

Might be regional as I was looking at Sainsury's ready meals today but didn't see it.

I find you need to be selective with "Taste the Difference" range as some of them can be too sweet.

I often buy ready meals being as I'm on my own. That sounds good Penny. I may give that a try.

Looked today Mo and they are reduced to £3. Each. All in metal trays which come in handy. Hope you manage to try one. Cheers Penny
