The government has pushed through a law to allow animals, other than pets, to be experimented on/ killed without the use of pain relief first,as animals do not feel pain ,they say, this replaces the European law which states animals must first be given something to stop them feeling pain during experiments/killed for food .How many of these politicians have interest in drug producing after tests on animals,or food train? How long before they bring back fox hunting?

Such pain relief costs money.
Are you seriously suggesting that the big drug companies should slwnd such money when they can't get it back from the NHS

I think this tells us everything we need to know about the people who govern us. They're a disgrace.

I hereby withdraw the above statement.
Like thousands of others, I was fooled into believing twisted facts spread by propagandists on social meeja. While those running the government may have many and varied faults, it seems that animal cruelty is not among them. The real story is here:
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/nov/23/uk-law-will-specifically-recognise-animal-sentience-michael-gove

There's an old adage, something about a lie going around the world before truth has got its boots on. In this Twittering era of fake news this is, sadly, truer than ever and we must all check and double check everything before we accept it as fact.
