I'm thinking of buying a carpet cleaner.

I wondered if anybody on here has one and are they any good.

Would I be better hiring a man to come & do the job?

We have just cleaned the carpet in our bowls club house, we hired a Rug Doctor machine, £22 ??? and the liquid is around £10, depending on size you have to do, very easy to use, the small one is quite light,
well worth a look,

Thanks Ann, that's worth knowing.

Are you satisfied that it did a good job of the cleaning?

It got a lot of dirt out of it, the carpet was very old pattern carpet, so some of it was faded, but was pleased with it, if ever I have the urge to do mine I would hire that machine,

Sounds good. I think I might hire a rug doctor then.

I've spent all day cleaning my carpets with the rug doctor. It's so heavy & cumbersome I think I'll hire somebody to do it next time.
It's done now anyway - I couldn't believe the filthy water I kept emptying from the recovery tank.

Glad it worked, yes it is a bit big machine, and perhaps in a small area can be awkward, yhink a 'pro' would be a lot more expensive.
