A topic on another site made me wonder Would You/Do You put your Dog/Cat in Kennels/Cattery so you can go away for Christmas??

I would not myself but my daughter has five dogs and does put them in a particular kennel when she goes abroad etc. cheers Penny

Yes I would. I think it's a good thing to get them used to staying elsewhere occasionally.
If I was in hospital they'd have to go somewhere.

I've done so in the past and would do so again if necessary (but I try not to go anywhere this time of year).

Not just cat or dog. awe used to put our rabbit into the children;s section of the local zoo - he had the free run of the garden and the local kids used to bring him dandelion leaves and, I suspect, bits of lettuce and cucumber from their lunchtime sandwiches! Needles to say, he loved children!

He was massive New Zealand White who had't seen a doe since his mother. The first time he thought all his Christ-masses had come at once and duffed up all the resident bucks (some of whom required veterinary care!).

After that he was still welcome but penned separately. The staff 'loved him, he'd curl up on a lap 'like a cat.

I would have loved him Laurie. Not against kennels etc but we always had a cat, dog and budgie so we always took them in our caravan which solved the problem. cheers Penny

Have used Kennels occasionally some years ago, but a friend and neighbour who has also held the house keys has enjoyed the company of our Doggie the last few years.
