Signs of Spring

Just walked round the back and front gardens and am delighted to report that I found daffodils and magnolia in bud, also a bush whose name I don't know with lovely red flower buds plus lots of delicate little snowdrops and purple crocus hiding shyly under the big hydrangea. The heather is also in full flower.
The birdies have been very chirpy and active the past 10 days or so and, judging by some of the odd bits we've found dropped on the drive, I think there's already nest building going on.
Spring is on the way!

My daffs are coming through too Andere.
Its been a queer mixture of weather this winter and when the sun shines I have to close my curtains because its SO dazzling apart from being quite warm. I have lived here for over 30 years and can never recall having SO much sun during the winter months.
I have seen SO many changes during my lifespan it looks as though its including a climate change. I only wish I could get out to get some of that fresh crisp air into my lungs without having to rely on someone taking me out now.

Agree about the sunshine, Maisie. Although I whinge a lot about grey days when it doesn't ever get light, there has been some extraordinarily bright weather when, nice as it is, getting out is difficult because the low sun makes seeing where you're going, by foot or by car, almost impossible. I'm not convinced about climate change - I suspect weather patterns have always moved in quite lengthy cycles, longer than a human life span, but it's only in the past 100 years or so that the patterns have been so much monitored and analysed so the real broad picture hasn't emerged yet. (OK, anyone who wants to report me to the Climate Change Denial Police, please feel free!)
