A rough weekend.

I started with terrible pains in my stomach on Saturday night and it was still raging through Sunday. It was making me lose my balance and I kept retching. Anyway my son came to stop with me overnight on Sunday because I felt that ruddy weak and dizzy with the continual retching. He phoned at 111 8-45pm last night and someone came to see me at 6am this morning. The doc who called prescibed some tablets for me and told me to take one or two as soon as my son collected them at 9 am this morning. I showed the chappie who came to see me the paper I always carry stating what ailments I suffer from including the medication for them. Anyway when my son brought the presciption I took one of the tablets as prescribed.
Later in the morning I sat reading the leaflet that comes with the tablets and saw that they were not supposed to be taken by anyone who has Epilepsy.
I have been on the phone to my surgery to find out for sure from one of the doctors there if I should carry on with them and been told to not take anymore the doctor at my surgery has prescribed different ones and they will let the pharmacist know, who will deliver them for me later today. Which they did

The best of this is the doc who called to see me from 111 came all the way from Market Harborough which is well over an hours ride away. He had been travelling all round and he must have felt done in himself but he still had two more patients to see scattered in the Midlands.
My mind boggles at the money being wasted.

Multiply your story by a couple of million patients and it's not hard to see why the health services are so strapped for cash.
Hope the newest batch of pills have helped and you will feel better soon, Maisie. :bighugs:

I wont know if the new med is doing me good until a couple of days have passed.Keeping my ruddy fingers crossed because its been one thing after another since the chest infection.

It must be a nightmare for the NHS staff at the weekends Andere.
They are SO short staffed because many are leaving the country to try their luck elsewhere.Cheers.

OH had an appointment last Thurs Afternoon, they canceled it in the morning, he got letter Fri Morning to go back Monday which he did, they said before he can have the op on the 5th, he has to have more blood tests and pick up more of that stuff which he has to drink to clear his bowels before the operation on Monday, they must have sent at least 3 letters and rung easily 4 or 5 times over this. And this is the second time during the last couple of months we have been through exactly the same procedure

The NHS is getting in a right balls up Dita.
Been talking to my neighbour whose mother has Dementia and in a care home and seems as though there has been quite a cock up over her meds too. She too has had repeat letters concerning her mother about different meds but NEVER any follow up.

Thanks Carol and Dita.
Still feeling tizzicky and SO ruddy tired. Mind you its only the second day of the meds but keeping my fingers crossed that my tummy will be a lot better by Saturday because I am hoping to get out for a couple of hours just for a change of scenery.
Its a good job I have my computer and I-pad. The only trouble is I cant get quite a few things on my I-pad and this site is one of them. I am on the computer at the moment but cant sit here for long now.
Best wishes to all.

Ive had a similar w/end,Problems with breathing Sunday night, something I get frequently, and by 4am Monday morn Id had enough ,I called 111, an ambulance came and I was taken to A&E where I spent the morning, as usual after a few times on a nebulizer I felt better and was sent home by 1pm, with recommendation of the hospital Dr to my G.P that she increase my water tablet,Im already on a water tablet, causing me to to visit the 'little room' far too often ,so definitely didnt want more, fortunately my G.P felt the same and doesnt want to do this , she is referring me to a lung specialist.Thank Goodness
