Don't these people realise that if you had someone who could help you wouldn't have needed to contact them in the first place?

I've been known to ask the postman to read m gas meter, but asking him to put poison down is a bit above and beyond.

You could ask the Scouts or similar. Even if they can't help they might suggest somebody who could,

I wanted the council to do it because they are experienced at it. I very much resent them charging me £60 though!

If I have to put the poison down myself it's no big deal. I know I could do it - or my son would do it for me.
Looks like I shall be buying rat poison tomorrow...

Let us hope it gets rid of them Carol but I would still put it on the local pages to warn others and contact your local councillor asking exactly what you are paying rates for.

I've contacted the local councillor Maisie.

He just hasn't replied (yet)
