I bought 6 trays of geranium plug plants today.

Do you think they'd be ok to put in a cold greenhouse?

I would bring them on a bit first. They m might take a check or fail to thrive.

Personally, I would use some fleece or even newspaper for a little protection. Good luck.

You certainly wouldn't be thinking of anything like that up here, Carol.

Lots of the white stuff travelling horizontally and as cold as I've been all winter!

My brother lost the ones he was bringing on in the greenhouse and he had some heating on. Can you keep them on windowsills for a while longer, Carol?

Although you still talk about plug plantsm Carol, I assume you've already potted them on?

Be careful of windowsills, the sun already has some strength and they may burn.

No I only bought them yesterday. I shall pot them on when they're bigger.
I'll be careful not to let them burn. Thanks laurie.

Plugs are very much more at risk, Carol.

The root ball is not insulated by soil, and even one degree of ground frost may kill the fine root hairs.

Last night I kept then in my front hallway.

We don't have heat on in there but it's frost free and there's plenty of light.

I'll see how they progress.

You know tout own micro climate best, of course, and normally the first week of April would be fairly safe, but we had -7 last night, and the snow gates are closed again up country!
