Hair Raising.

Postby Maywalk » Fri Apr 13, 2018 7:16 pm

I have been feeling under the weather again this past week or two with getting very breathless and coughing but I put it down to the fact that it was coming up to the time when Cliff died which was the 9th of April and this time last year I was in the hospital with a chest infection in a room on my own.I had told my family to stop away in case they took any bugs to my great grandson.
It was a rotten time and I dont think I would have been SO bad IF I had not been feeling SO low with the rotten ailment while in the hospital and being on my own.
Anyway this year my son and lovely d-i-l said they would call for me to take me out for lunch and a browse in the shops but only if I felt better. I thought it would do me good to get out in the fresh air although it was cold so we went.
I felt done in by the time we got back and I had started wheezing again before they left and they got rather concerned so I promised to contact the doctor if it got any worse.
Anyway after I had had my tea and meds I decided to look on my I-pad to see if I had any messages.
To say I was gob smacked with what I saw would be putting it mildly.

What faced me was.................. CLIFFORD WALKER would like to be friends with you.

It just knocked me for six and I finished up having a ruddy Asthma attack plus now I am on meds for a severe chest infection.
Getting over it now but it certainly knocked me off balance emotionally at the time.
What would be the odds of that happening on the day Cliff had died ?????????????????

Thanks Penny.
I think the shock of seeing that brought things to a head.
Started feeling a bit brighter now though with the meds. I certainly dont want to finish up in the hospital again.

Getting there slowly Michael.
Its the bouts of coughing that takes it out of me. :groaner:
The sun has come out here so if it keeps fine I will see if I can get my walker out and have a little amble across the path on the green just to get some fresh air in my lungs.
Sod this getting old business.

OH! Maisie what a blooming shock for you, anyway its certainly given you a positive outlook back, and you certainly deserve that after the way lifes been treating you of late. Like you I have a very chesty cough which then sets off my asthma and panic attacks, I suddenly get a little tickle in my throat and that's that, Bless you dear Maisie think we are just approaching old age :) xx

So sorry to hear you are so down, how horrible for you ,and hope you will soon feel better.I too am having breathing problems Ive had nearly 2 weeks in Hospital and dont feel any better, first they said it was Asthma, then Fluid on the lungs, + Low salt ,and then maybe my Sinuses [ which E,N,T specialist ruled out,] now IIve been sent home as they can see me in out patients,I am a 'Difficult person to deal with as I have several different conditions ' I am due to have a review at the Hospital next week?????Then a Dr from my own G.P surgery is ringing me for a telephone conversation a few days later, what good can a telephone conversation do.? They cant see how breathless I am,or how swollen my feet.I am asked if I need any help but all they can offer is someone to wash and dress me and to get me some food, but I can wash/dress myself and get myself a meal of some kind, soup /sandwich.My SIL has carers 4 x a day but sometimes they dont turn up,they didnt wash her feet and left her with ingrained dirt untill my niece [ who lives several miles away ] compplained, they put her used incontinence pads on the radiator to dry and reuse ,so not thanks ,no 'carers ' for me

I am really puzzled now,I have this appt for a review at the Hospitalon Thursday,I thought it would be due to my breathing problems, but today Ive got a Hospital appt. in May for a 'Lung Function tests,so who is what or who I have no idea, but I will find out when I go for my 'review on Thursday. My son read that a well known heart Hospital recommends Tai Chi,so I have joined a group, went last week, an effort to do the exercises but I will continue, maybe get used to them and do some good

Sorry folks not had any notification that I had any replies. Blasted internet playing me up. Apologies.
Yes I did manage to have a very slow walk with my four wheeler Carol across the path but felt shattered when I got back.
The doc wants me straight back if the cough does not ease off. I think it has something to do with the pacemaker.
if it does and that would mean going in the hospital again.
The cough has eased off a lot thank goodness but once I do start it really gets going but its not as bad now.
I will give myself the next two days to see what the antibiotics do.
Thanks for getting back to me.
