Somebody posted this on Facebook and it moved me so much.

Thinking of all my friends who have experienced this. :bighugs:

Carol, that very neatly sums up what widowed friends and relations have described to me and which I, who have never gone through it, can only struggle to comprehend. Every one of us who is half of a couple knows there is a 50% likelihood it will happen to us one day but we all push the thought aside because it is unbearable.
Moving and thought provoking. Thank you.

In a way I was 'eased 'into widow hood.My husband had a very severe stroke, was not expected to live.He did survive but couldnt form words, use his right arm and limted movement in right leg,he suffered a lot of pain, couldnt do a lot of things he used to do. 3 years later he suffered a second stroke and lost his fight for life.In a way it was a happy release and I was prepared for life without him,our life had already changed dramatically in the previous years. Now I have forged a new life
