The Rookery

I expect you will recall we live within a Rookery and have been feeding them daily for many years. one particular rook, we called him George, sat on the porch roof every day and called to me for his daily treat of biscuits. He was there early today with one wing draped over the guttering and he kept blinking at me. I said, your too early George and when he didn't respond it hit me he was dying and came to say goodbye. He died within 10min. OH went out to collect him. I don't think I have been so sad for a long time and am having to wipe away the tears as I sit and type. Forgive me if I am an old misery today.

Penny :sorry:

You have an excuse for being miserable I would be as well. We have a blackbird who nests in our garden every year we can recognise him by his very odd tail feathers and I look for him each year and settle as soon as I see him again and know he's well.
