I came home from hospital last night after 15 days in ,it started with being in pain all night ,then a painful swollen leg next morning,I had a small sore on my leg ,which Id told my Dr about,she said if it got worse let them know,as it was Saturday I rang 111 & they sent an ambulance, After Several hours in A&E i was admitted, After a day & night in 1 ward I was sent to another at 11 pm, then after a day & night there I was sent to another ward ,again at 11 pm,It was discovered that the blood was not flowing up my leg & I had an ulcer,so they removed a large varicose vein from my leg,& 2 days later sent me home.I am in a lot of pain & have a distric nurse coming to dress the wounds tomorrow

Poor you. That sounds horrible but I'm glad you're home now. I know it hurts now but I also know from living alongside my OH that, with proper dressings and care, miracles can be wrought with leg ulcer/varicose vein conditions so please don't despair. It WILL improve.

Nurse came today,he was efficient but not very chatty,I asked if the ulcer was getting better but he didnt reply,He put 3 new dressings over the ulcer & where I had vein removed, asked a few questions re my health problems ,then said hed be back Thursday goodbye,The sores are hurting a bit but the dressings seem good,Ive taken a codein,& will take another before settling down for the night so hope I will sleep
