Waste of time and effort

Postby Monika » Tue Aug 14, 2018 5:31 pm

I read for a short while before I go to sleep and, last night, I finished a book which I can honestly say is the most awful book I have ever read.
I had my doubts in the beginning and didn't like the story, but I read it to its unsatisfactory end and thought what a waste of time.

I usually pass them on to charity shops but this was so awful, I'm going to put it in the recycling bin.

The book in question, laurie, is Little Boy Blue by M J Arlidge.

Apparently, it is the fifth in a series of books featuring DI Helen Grace. I have never come across this author before so maybe I would have a different opinion about the previous ones.

What I didn't like about this story was that it was about Sado- Masochism' the murders were very sadistic and, to me - unbelievably - DI Grace herself was a regular participant in BDMS. I thought the storyline ludicrous and the non-ending ending was totally unsatisfactory.

I have now binned it.

I applaud your determination in ploughing to the end (with gritted teeth?!) :magnify:

Good grief! Who needs it?

There's enough of it in real life.
