I think you should go to your GP to identify the problem. It could be due to sinus problems, a cold or polyps in the nasal cavity, so I think you need medical advice for this, Penny.

Anyway, I hope you get this sorted quickly; it must be awful not being able to enjoy your meals.

Agree with Monika. Any time I have had this it has been caused by deep rooted catarrh and sinusitis and needed a mild antibiotic.

Impaired taste can also be a sign of normal aging i read.

Whatever the cause, Penny, I think you should seek advice; if it's an age thing I would imagine you would need to find out if there is anything you can do about it - as opposed to "having to live with it".

Hi Monica, District Nurse came today, she said I am fine, still the same as i was on her last visit a few months ago, and made a booking to come and see me in six months time. So hopefully I will be the same then. cheers Penny.

Off topic, the district nurse, one thing that has not changed in 70 years. Still the same smiling, comforting efficient person she has always been.

The only time I've seen them is when they used to come to change my wife's catheter, but I never see one (we have a team of about five) without she stops and talks and asks me how I am.

A special breed.
