I Despair

I switched on BBC 1 at 9 o'Clock this evening to watch a new drama called Wanderlust and the opening scenes were totally disgraceful. There was a woman in bed "pleasuring herself", a man doing the same in a schoolroom whilst looking at pictures of semi naked women and a schoolboy asking a schoolgirl how many times a week did she do this, followed by him telling ,her about himself on that matter.

It seems to me that some writer asked themselves what could they do to offend the already sex-saturated general public and they came up with this sick answer. How far are they going to go in extending the boundaries of common decency I wonder?

But that's the point. You can't offend the sex saturated public.

When I took a girl out for the first time you rendered if you'd get a goodnight kiss. Now you wounder if you'll get oral sex.

We watch '8 out off ten cats do Countdown on More4 quite a bit and their language is a bit crude very often, and we did start to watch that thing on BBC1, thought we'd accidently tuned into a porne channel. Its hard to imagine that these things are suitable for adult + family viewing even after 9pm.

I read Monika's description with my jaw hanging open and thought it had to be a wind -up so then I read the Guardian's synopsis of this opus and decided it must be the first of April!

Really, that tells you all the reasons this household no longer owns a TV set and is unlikely to be acquiring one anytime soon. Why would anyone write, produce or act in this stuff, let alone waste their life watching it?
