EWhat is this fascination with 1920vperiod.I like to watch Bargain Hunt on tele 7 thsi seems to be a poular time for buying /selling items

I think it's because all through the 1920's Art Deco was the in thing and the people of today seem to like this style. That may change in the very near future to encompass the 1960's - there are signs already that this era is gaining in popularity.

I was about to say exactly what Monika said. It's most!y about the enduring popularity of art nouveau and art deco. That's unsurprising when you compare those clean and simple-seeming lines with the faffy, fussy stuff that went before or the twee-ness of the 40s and the garish plastic-laden 50s.

If only I could stumble over a Lalique sculpture in my attic....
