A Nice Day Out

Postby laurie53 » Tue Sep 25, 2018 8:01 pm

Just back from a bit of shopping in St Andrews.

No big deal, but the first time I have been more than two miles from the house (other than directly to and from out patients) this year.

Cost me £50 for the taxi, so not the sort of thing you can afford every week, or even month, so all the more welcome.

A lady in Boots admired my waistcoat (black paisley patterned silk brocade) and was chatted up by a thirty something attractive blonde i Marks!

Already planning funds for the next trip!

I'm glad you had such an enjoyable day Laurie, but I'm wondering - why didn't you just get a taxi to the station & go by train?

Because the nearest station is seven miles beyond where the taxi dropped me off, and the taxi fare is £40 plus!

St Andrews is not served by rail.
