Frozen Food.

Like others of my generation and not wanting to be a burden to anyone by being independent
I get my own meals although I can only do ready or frozen meals now because I cant grip heavy saucepans
OR peel potatoes.
I cant say I am over excited about frozen meals.
They are definitely not like I used to make myself BUT it was my own decision and I will stick by it.
Anyway on Wednesday of this week I got out of the freezer a WELL KNOWN know brand of Bangers and Mash.
I had never had it before and decided the mash might taste better than others because
very often the frozen mash on the dinners I have had goes like ruddy water and tastes horrible.
It had the sell by date as 2020 BUT when I took it out of the box the mash was ruddy mouldy.
I wont name the brand because I have sent a photo of the dinner plus a photo of the sell by date that
has another number on it that must evidently be the batch number to them.
I have also been on the phone to head office complaints department and they have asked me to give them
20 days to go through the batch to sort the problem out.
I agreed to this as long as they got back to me otherwise the photo of the dinner and the brand name will
be going on the net.
I told them I wasn't looking for any compensation and the reason I have contacted them
is the fact that many elderly who have to use frozen meals to survive are also poor sighted.
My own eyesight is not brilliant but there are folks worse off than myself and they could put the meal
in the microwave and eat it without being aware what they had done and perhaps finish up with food poisoning.
Luckily I dont put any in the microwave I do my frozen meals in the oven and that is how I saw the mould just before I was
going to put it in.
I will wait now to see if they get back to me but meanwhile I certainly wont be buying their goods.
