Can anyone explain?.

Postby Maywalk » Mon Nov 05, 2018 3:59 pm

I have just been reading about an older woman going to have her eyebrows threaded.
What in heavens name is that all about?
I had mine trimmed last week by my hairdresser but never heard of them being threaded.
From what I have read it can be painful !!!!!!!!!!

Women who do this procedure get two lengths of thread, which kind of cross over each other and pull out the eyebrows. They can shape them this way too. Never had it done !
If at first you don't succeed, sky diving isn't for you!

I can remember wandering why a woman would want mesmeric surgery on her vagina.

It's not exactly a feature of public appearance, and speaking personally I've never seen one that didn't look very attractive and if you're up that close and personal the last thing on your mind is what it looks like.

Apologies for any offence caused.

Mesmeric surgery? Is that where you have hypnosis instead of anaesthetic? I don't fancy any kind of surgery on that part of my anatomy unless for life saving purposes! However, I would seriously consider hypnosis for other procedures because I'm phobic about general anaesthetic and react badly to lignocaine and novocaine as local anaesthetic.

As for eyebrow threading, I only heard of it a few weeks ago and looked it up via Goog!e. I watched a YouTube video which was enough to put me off the notion for life. I've never been a great fan of eyebrow plucking - always makes me sneeze for some reason and I'm scared of poking the tweezers in my eye so I shall continue to face the world from under my ginger 'Dennis He.aleys'. (And there's another mystery: my flaming ginger tresses have faded to a sort of depressed blonde on my head, so why are myl eyebrows stil unremittingly ginger? :dunno: )

Well I dont think I will bother with the threading.
Sounds like self torture to me plus someone making a packet out of it from those daft enough to pay have it done. :huffin:

In this day and age Laurie AND what is thrown at us on TV one gets past being offended.
To be honest with some of the things that are shown on TV makes me cringe.
I fell off to sleep one night and the TV was on.I had turned the light off. I very often watch TV with no sound and subtitles on.
I awoke with a start around 2am in the morning to be confronted with some sort of big sheet with holes in it and men had got their privates shoved through it, plus some boiled twit was going round measuring them. :huffin:  :tantrum2: :dunno:
It might not have hit me so hard if I had not got my specs on.

I was still trying to gather my wits and at the same time fumbling for the the on/off switch.
Nothing is sacred today.

You are making no more than most of us Laurie. :huffin:
I am making them everyday too and if the other members see this they will agree that they too make cockups.
I have never met the perfect human being in my life and I doubt whether there has ever been one born.
Let us have you looking on the brighter side of life.
