Did you watch the show for the 70th Birthday of the Prince of Wales. It was excellent and the prince certainly enjoyed it. Well Done. cheers Penny

I was going to watch it but we went out & forgot to record it. Tony would have liked the magicians.

I haven't had a problem. As I posted elsewhere, I was making so many mistakes because of my deteriorating vision that other members were beginning to comment, so I thought I ought to stop posting, or at least cut back.

It's beyond that, Penny. I have an x10 glass in the kitchen, bedroom and sitting room.
I sit 6 inches from a 24 inch screen, with the zoom set to about three lines a screen!
Long posts rake a while to read or write and my spellchecker doesn't pick up everything.

No, it's dry macula degeneration, for which there's no cure as yet. There's exciting work going on with stem cells, but that'll be too late for those who already have it.
It doesn't lead to total blindness, just loss of central vision, which is reading, writing and driving and most television of course!

Laurie, I have the same as you, but not both eyes equally, In the right eye, dry MD is in an advanced stage, and in the left eye, an early stage.

A member of our art group has this condition and sits with a huge magnifier when he paints and his pictures have to be seen to be believed - they are absolutely wonderful.
As for you, Laurie, I find it unbelievable that someone is so devoid of good manners and kindness, they criticise your mistakes. TAKE NO NOTICE, PLEASE, there are plenty of folks on here who are warm and friendly and value your contribution. Keep posting and sod 'em!

It's not a lack of kindness; some of my mistakes cause genuine confusion, as with mesmeric instead of cosmetic, and I can only smile when I am gently chided for Vermin instead of Varmin!
It is however, down to me to do what I can, and cutting down on posting is part of that.

I can smile too Laurie but........wrong again. It is not even Varmin but Vannin = VANNIN. You know, a Manx word.
