Made a white sauce over the holiday to have with my shoulder of mutton.

Brought the milk to the boil and simmered, stirring constantly, for two minutes as per instructions, but it was quickly obvious that it had caught and the bottom of the pan is a disaster area, so what did I do wrong apart from not using the microwave which I shall certainly do next time!

Think you had the power too high for the pan. I have one the same, have to bring to the boil etc very slowly or it sticks. cheers Penny
