For some reason, when we chose to watch a play. There is a background voice telling the story as it moves along, just as I imagine plays for the blind. We keep searching to find the answer but no luck. Anyone know what this is and what to do. cheers Penny :please: :please:

I don't suppose I can be a lot of help but someone else might be if you provide more information.

Are you watching terrestrial TV off air?
Or satellite? Or cable?
Are you streaming an internet service on your PC? Or your TV set?

Does this mysterious voice over occur every time you watch something or only on certain channels? It sounds, at a guess, as if you have somehow turned on a narration facility, designed for the visually impaired and, if so, you should be able to tun it off by going to the Settings menu on your TV or other device or, if it's only one service that's affected, take a look at your Settings/Preferences for that service.

If it's anywhere it will be in Settings, perhaps under the sub-heading "Accessibility.

Look for Audio Description. It might be grouped with "Subtitles"".

However, it is normally a global setting and if you have elected it inadvertently you would get it on most programmes.

Check the settings on both your television and recording device.

Thank you all so much. For some strange reason it put itself right last night. OH had been fiddling with the remote so might have pushed the wrong button, but. seems we are not the only ones with a problem. My friend in USA is unable to contact me at present and several folk seem to be having a problem. Have to just sit and say fingers crossed. cheers Penny

There is a major power outage in South America and as servers are hosted all over the world the effects could be felt anywhere.

In the pink, thanks Penny.

I remember a canal trip when i lived Bucks.

A summer Saturday afternoon, four hours in a horse drawn barge.

Not a sound except birdsong, lapping water and the jingle of harness.

One of those magical lifetime moments.
