Another sad loss of a former Seniority member, a lady who was active on Facebook but not on The Rowan Tree. RIP Carolyn Meszaros whose username used to be Carpathian Peasant.

Yes Viv, Seniority! Gosh that was a long time ago. We knew Carolyn a long time didn't we. If I remember she had written an extensive number of stories about her early life. Haven't heard her mention them for years. I wonder if someone has custody of them? I felt sad for her. She didn't seem to have any family or relations and was rather isolated in her apartment with only the 'food truck', and a couple of other social workers who visited about once a week.

Yes, I think she was deeply into the history of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. She also often quoted from the writings of Archbishop Fulton Sheene, which I am afraid were sometimes too deep in theology for my understanding. Her brain was full of fresh facts! Also the history of Dayton, Ohio, with the accompanying photos, was fascinating.
Do you know what her illness was?

no I don't Viv. I know she had constant problems with her mobility scooter, so she wasn't very mobile herself.

I remember CP, Gina (Shutterfrog) was a big friend of hers and often visited her. I am still in touch with Gina so I will ask her if she still keeps in contact with her.

It was Gina who first informed me of the sad event Hazel, but she hasn't been able to contact CP other than online.

Hi Hazel. Sorry to hear Gina is not too well. I clearly remember both of you at the lunch in Holborn. :grouphug:

Wow! now this is taking me back to the good old days--Maisie introduced me to Seniority, and those names are all familiar too.
