remember these

Old mother Hubbard, sat in a cupboard, eating her curds and whey.
There came a big spider, and sat down beside her,
and said what a good boy am I.

One,Two,Three, mother caught a flea,Put it in the teapot and made a cupper tea.
The flea jumped out, we all began to shout. Who put the paper up the old mans snout.

Suddenly found myself humming these today.

11 12 we are in the delve
13 14 the maids are courting
15 16 the maids are in the kitchen
17 18 the maids are waiting

Half a pound of tuppenny rice, half a pound of treacle, mix them up and make them nice, Pop goes the weasel.

I wish I was an apple on a tree, wish I was an apple on a tree,
if I was an apple on a tree some body come along and take a bite at me.
I wish I was an apple on a tree.

Mary Mary, Quite contrary
How does your garden grow
With silver bells and cocKle shells
And pretty maids all in a row.

..............................

Round and round the garden
Like a Teddy Bear
One step two steps.
Tickle him under there.

.............................

You dont hear much of that sort of thing now Penny.
It is now a case of shoving an i-pad of sorts in the childs hands for them to watch some sort of loony cartoon.
My own great grandson has one and I cant say that I approve but it isnt my child so I let them get on with it.
You are not even allowed to raise your voice nowadays to say a very firm NO if the child is doing wrong.
My mind boggles at what is happening in this world today.
