70 YEARS AGO ON THIS SAME DATE.

It was way back in 1949 on a beautiful day such as this
When we married to start our life of so called marital bliss.
It was far from blissful because they were post war years
With losts of hardship still to face and many, many fears.
Everything was still in short supply and having to make do.
We were still on rations plus limited furniture dockets to.
We made it through the tough years and always had a smile
It does not seem like 70 years since you walked me down the aisle.
Although you are not beside me in your human form to celebrate
I know that you are with me on this special day and can communicate
"Happy Anniversary" to my beloved hubby, my thoughts are of yesteryears
As we made it through a lifetime of much hardship, laughter, love and tears.

What a day of memories today must be for you, Maisie. Many good ones; inevitably some less good; some happy and some sad - but I suspect that many a reminiscent smile has touched your face today and I send you :bighugs: as you recall so many happy years together.

You and Cliff were so lucky. You each found your soul mate and, together, you took on whatever life chucked at you.. Cliff is still beside you, always with you and he will be smiling, too.

I love your poem and send you love. Xx
