Good (hopefully) morning all, had a nice surprise yesterday evening. Hubby rang me from the hospial using a nurses phone (cheeky chap) he sounded fine Seems the pain in his legs was caused by some acid in his blood and the hospital have been trying different methods of treating it. Seems they have found the correct one. He is hoping to be moved to the specialists clinic for two weeks of exercise during which we can visit one at a time. Such a relief. Anyway, thought I would let you know. Hope everyone is keeping warm and well. Nice and sunny so far but outlook not too bright. Take care and have a good week. cheers Penny

Hi Penny, it is good to hear about the good progress at the hospital for your husband. A tremendous relief for you and the family.

You must be looking forward to visiting when he is at the clinic.
Make sure you take care of yourself, surrounded by all the gadgets!

Thanks vannin. I spoke to him by the hospital tele system and he mentioned, hope it won't be much longer but now the clinic has banned visitors, so it might be a month before I get him back. Son is doing a double check with the hospital later tonight. Fingers crossed. cheers Penny

Penny, my fingers are double crossed, even with a trigger finger! I hope your son received helpful info when he checked. Very disappointing to raise family hopes then say something else. I suppose the rules about infection control are now covering all kinds of wards even where no infectious person is taken in. I hope your OH is cheerful and feeling much better now responding to treatment.

On another topic, Dita hasn't posted since the 24th, so I don't know whether it is her health or computer.

It is ifficult for me as I have a long drive and could not carry stuff to the road. Waiting for son to ring to hear if there has been any changes in hospital visits. Getting so complicated everywhere. Come on Dita, we are all waiting to hear from you.Take care, cheers Penny

Good afternoon everyone, meaning Vannin and Penny especially, thanks for thinking of me and despite feeling pretty horrible at the moment I am here because of such kindness you have both shown to me-------that is worth its weight in gold believe me. I am battling with a really bad cough and sinus infection, also this not helping my arthritis, and exhaustion is well and truly not at the back of the queue either. Certainly not going to go on about it, being here with and chatting on Rowan is far too important. Poor Dolly is not enjoying as much football at the moment so she is trying to manipulate and put me under as much stress as she can muster to get her own way.

Penny It sounds like your Husband is well considering the shock he has had to his system, and the fact you have been able to communicate by various means is brilliant, do not forget to look after yourself too.
Vannin, I do hope all is well with yourself and Trixie, I have recalled all sorts to do with the Mag and folk relating to it, Olive Kandel she came from Islington, I visited her on several occasions, sadly she had a fatal stroke. Another was from the Orkneys, Love and Hugs to yourself and Trixie from Dolly and me xxxx

Third attempt. So pleased to hear from you Dita. Tell Dolly to be a good girl and put up with things for now. Heard from son on this film equipment he gave me and I could see him and hubby chatting away. Hubby is doing well and getting a lot of physio. Daughter came with her partner this a.m. and sorted out all the rubbish and stuff for collection. Now, do take care and whatever, keep warm. cheers Penny

Happy day Dita, glad to see you but very sorry to hear you have been feeling so poorly. I was afraid I had bored you to tears about Gainsborough/relatives' history, and the three counties etc.! I hope you will be better by the weekend and hopefully the miserable weather might change which helps psychologically.

Talk of pets being manipulative. One evening at the weekend, I shouted at Trixie - the first time ever- Just STOP it' and then burst into tears, shocked at myself. She was horrified to see and hear it and climbed up to rub my cheek, purring and sweet. This too was a first so I reassured her everything was OK. We had a kitten Skippy named by my daughter when she was two. Any time my daughter flounced to her room to cry on the bed, Skippy joined her and licked her cheek. We were not harsh parents but she was a stroppy kid!

Penny, I don't know about your council but it is twelve years since I had to struggle with bins. I have a long drive too and very steep dropping away from the house. By making an application to the council dept, for the 'Collect and Return' facility, the men come up to the house to deal with it. They sometimes forget tho'.
Take care you and Dita, as well as Mr Penny. Get well Dita, Trixie and I send gentle hugs to you and Dolly.xxx

Try a third time. think someone does not like me, never mind.
Do hope you are feeling better Dita. it is a lovely day but rather cold, my cleaning lady has just arrived. Said it is her parents 50th W/A on Saturday and no one clear enough to come to a party. Such a shame.

Hope you are feeling good too vannin, keeping free from colds etc.

Son just phoned, says he is taking one of these special phones for hubby so that he will be able to phone and see us at any time. Getting colder and clouds coming over. Wish this weather would sort itself out soon

So, all for now, take care, keep warm Dita and tell little ones to be patient, cheers Penny :please:

Penny, if you have never tried applying to your council for this, it would be worth trying. It must have been incredibly difficult for you both.

Thanks vannin. Will see how it goes. When daughter came to collect I was very pleased, she washed everything out and put plastic bag in the kitchen one so I don't get smells or anything nasty. Not that I have much sense of anything left now. Do hope Dita feels well enough to post soon. Often wonder how Andere is doing. Would be great if sh joined in one day. Have you had any rain today, we had a shower early on and this very minute a roll of thunder. What ever next. ?? My friend in Utah, sent a message this morning saying the virus problems were getting worse in USA. Raining a little now. I don't know where the extra hour went but it is getting very dark here already. Do take care and give Puss a hug from me. Come on Dita, let us know you and Dolly are O>K> cheers Penny :please: :please:

Penny, Andere answered in one of the quizzes in the past week.
Does your Utah friend live in or around Salt Lake City? My crowd of American in-laws, not the Californians who are my cousins, are all Utah people, mostly around Salt Lake.

Hi everyone, thanks so much for wishing me well, I really do appreciate it, I am still struggling but thanks to you Vannin and Penny it helps and gives me enthusiasm which makes me feel more upbeat about everything. Your chats never bore me Vannin, especially anything to do with Gainsborough, I love the place lots of my family originate from that area. I also lived for a few years at Collingham, my cousin lives on his narrow boat at Newark, my uncle was the Blacksmith near Gainsborough. Andrere posted Vannin, she is another from that area originally, also very near now. Yippee ! Must not forget Lacemaker either.
Worn myself out now, do hope your husband continues to improve Penny, take care of yourself, keep meaning to get in touch with Andere, and haven't, hope she forgives me because it was totally my fault, I am not good at phone calls. Love and Hugs Vannin and Trixie from Dolly and me xxxx
