Hee Hee, Vannin on my old computer I had no trouble with the touch pad but this one is a nightmare, my hands are small and the bottom row of keys is different and I keep catching the ruddy things anyway, we do not all have long fingers. I did have a cordless mouse but I cannot find it so must now buy another----as well as the gloves :( :) I too thought it was a good opener for a chat too, and came back on to check YUK! Going to have a hunt round now . My husband was like yours he would help anyone out, I wish he were still here, trouble is I really do not know how he would have reacted to our covid problems ??? Take care Dolly and me xxx

What a lovely afternoon for you vannin. Delighted to hear you have such super neighbours. We are down to two, both very old and unable to clear their own. Sorry my puzzles are of no use to the forum Dita. cheers Penny

vannin, remember if you use Google to find a word you will still be learning, not cheating. So after trying to work out an answer, Google is there to help.

I have taken part in quizzes since schooldays and NEVER known any competitor look up the answers, because then it stops being a quiz and becomes a practice run. I use Google for looking up health matters, legal matters etc.

It sounds to me that you choose words to suit your own needs Penny, I was not referring to your Quizzes-- whatever the proper name is, I was talking about our Forum, what is a Forum???
Also reading what you said to Vannin about learning, not cheating--------it is treating her like an idiot-----not an intelligent mature lady which is what she is.

I just came on here because I just wanted to be friendly, have a chat with someone----its usually Vannin and Trixie and one or two folk who pop in from time to time, so much enjoyed the pics yesterday ........but what did I find??? Take care everyone Love and Hugs to my two special friends from Dolly and me xxxxx So sorry --I love this forum xx

No, hang on Dita! Honestly I have never thought for one second, that Penny treated me like an idiot. I can call myself an idiot and often do, but do not know anyone who does - or not to my face anyway! :? :hide: :grouphug: :peace: We are all friends, after many years. I apologise to all for prolonging the topic of quizzes - which we would miss very much if they were not there. :sorry: :love52:

I love the forum too. So it is best we put critical words behind us, and I launch my little update for today.
This being three days before my eye injection appointment (Yes, six weeks can fly by, last one was 17th Dec) I rang the bookings number for hospital transport. I am so aware of paramedics being frontline even the Non-emergency ambulance wing. Secondly, if there was any question of snow/ice causing dangerous roads, I wanted to ask the hosp dept if it could possibly postpone this for a week or two. Thirdly, I can't help remembering I had to wait 2.5 hours for my home lift last time. Seems it was a one-off.
So I mentioned this to the call handler (not a complaint, I think the world of paramedics) who told me such a wait is very unlikely to happen this week. No postponement either if roads remain good like today.
According to local forecast, more snow is not expected this week, just lots more rain. :groaner:
I am so pleased with the clearance of my drive and garden paths yesterday, finished off with many kilos of de-icing salt which I didn't use last winter. Without the two young men, I would have been fretting.
With a clearer mind, I should progress slightly with cleaning the house today. Trixie is moulting everywhere , surprising in January, and remembering I was surprised she shed very little in Summer.
Love and hugs to Dita and Dolly from Trixie and me xxxx :bighugs: :bighugs:

I used to do the quiz myself Vannin, but this is a FORUM and that is really what it used to be, rare if there is anything resembling one now-a-days. I think it not a good thing for me to be told things that I had not even thought about in my post too, and indicating about you learning not cheating--------well it speaks for itself. I have really not heard anything like it we are a very small forum and its always been a friendly little place to just have a chat and help each other........not to be bossed around and treated like we know nothing. Sorry if I have spoken out of turn,

Could do with your young men here to help me clear this place Vannin , I dont mind paying well . At the moment I am shedding more hair than Dolly?? Love to you both Dolly and me xxx

Well 32ºC today! Must take Rosie for a walk before it gets too hot! The decision? Round the block or round Henley Lake?

Lovely out! Met some very friendly people and dogs. There's a group of elderly people, some with dogs, who we often encounter and have a nice chat about anything. We must be getting fitter, it used to take us 45 minutes to walk around the lake, today was 35 minutes, including socialising.
