Wow! such beautiful photos Ciderman, I feel like packing a small case, and heading in that direction immediately, it is just my little Dolly who is holding me back. In fact the last posts from - Vannin and Ciderman was exactly my meaning when I posted about my own demeaner as regards old age. You both described it in a more adequate detail from me, that's all. Hawkes Bay Vannin ? do you fancy going ?. Love and hugs to you both from from Dolly and me xxxx

Just a quickie tonight, firstly to say 'Yes Dita, I think a break for us two in Hawkes Bay would be just the ticket'!
Secondly, I can't see much just now. The eye injection today has had a very painful reaction as also the one done six weeks ago. It was the same lady both times, all the previous thirty were by various others, without my having bad reactions. My heart sank today when I found she was on duty. I reported the December prob to the consultant before today's procedure and was told 'sometimes it catches a nerve'.
Might be OK in the morning!
Trixie and I hope you are all right and send our love and hugs to you and Dolly.xxxx

Been feeling something was wrong Vannin, and now I know why! I am so sorry to hear about the pain after your injection, you have never indicated to me before that after pain was an issue-------but now I know it can be and it must horrible, especially in your delicate eye area, Would love to meet the lady and give her a bit of pain in a nerve or two ? Hope its getting easier today. Never mind if we go on our trip to NZ we shall hopefully be rid of her :) I am still struggling but also still surviving thanks to a couple of loyal people----like yourself and Trixie, Love and hugs to you both xxxxx

Dita thank you. It is feeling much better by tonight but still a fragile eye! I don't feel I can make an outright complaint ie that it seems this lady (specialist nurse) possibly has a poor (incorrect) technique. I would be interested to know if she has other 'victims', because otherwise my eye itself might have turned extra sensitive anyway! The macular dept was busy, many injections after mine. Last night was a wakeful one so I am on my way to bed and try for better sleep.xxx

Hi Vannin, do hope your eye well settled down by now, hope also you managed a decent nights sleep. :please: Things the same here, just doing the best I can as usual. The atmosphere in the world is on par with our political world too. :huffin: So strange isn't it? :? Nothing exciting to report, starting to think about getting someone to help me keep the garden tidy again, not having much luck. yours guy sounds tempting . :sunglasses: Love and hugs to yourself and Trixie from Dolly and me xxxxx :bighugs: :bighugs:

Hi Dita, thank you for asking. After a bad 36-hour period the pain lifted and now I have had lengthy healing sleep, having drenched the eye constantly with Hypromellose saline drops - must have used 10 mls. There is a sense of hopelessness when neither open eye nor closed, brings any relief! :magnify: :dunno: :(

My one remaining gardening guy said he would ring in Jan and I am not sure what to do about the coming garden year, he only does the mowing and tree-lopping. The one who left to resume his other career, in hair salon, is enjoying it and is the ideal and typical personality to capture the customers :sunglasses:
with skill and cheekiness and charm :hi: and keep them smiling. Happy Matt, when we spoke on the phone! He was the one who saw to everything except the grass-cutting etc so I may be stuck. He said he could visit garden on Wed half-day or Saturdays sometimes but I hesitate to ask. I also keep putting off making appointment for my trim! Before Christmas, Ross my neighbour gave my phone number to an established gardener who 'does all gdn work'. If he really wants to make contact, it is any time now. But if Kevin phones first, I would stall him which is difficult. He is the sensitive one. :sorry: But I'm glad I gave him the patio work in the autumn.
I hope you find someone too. Nowt straightforward for us! :fing: Love and hugs to yourself and Dolly from
sleepy Trixie and me xxxxx. She found last night so cold, she snuggled up to me with the duvet in between. :bighugs: :bighugs:

This morning I was texted by the CCG to give a performance rating. So I rated it low, and returned, then had to detail reasons and thirdly, 'what could be done better to improve' to which I replied 're-training'.

Hi Vannin, Good for you for giving a truthful performance rating, a great shame folk don't do it more often instead of dismissing the invitation. Did have my case packed and ready to hear from you as regards our move to NZ, unfortunately you didn't turn up, :hide:  do hope you are ok? I am trying to get myself motivated into sorting out my 3 upstairs bedrooms, not much energy or enthusiasm I'm sorry to say, my only bathroom is downstairs and at the end of what used to be once the washhouse, when desperate for the loo if you are upstairs, by the time you have crossed your legs and halfway down--------too late.
:lala: :exactly:
That's really the only way I can describe it. Love and hugs Vannin and Trixie from Dolly and me xxxx :bighugs: :bighugs:

'Ooooo Missus' as Frankie Howard used to say! :hide: Dita, I must shelve NZ for now, sorry to have stood you up. :sorry:

I made a split-second decision to give the house a birthday by getting new curtains for three windows. If I had stopped to give rational thought to the performance involved, I might have hesitated over the climbing part. :rolleye11: I ordered them from M & S online and the delivery was by return, more or less! I have now completed one and a half windows and been extremely careful. Getting the old pairs down is OK using the little stepstool. Putting new ones up needs the taller stool and, so far, my balance has been excellent, because I take it slowly. Trixie watches in amazement! ;) I believe I am slowly self-motivating to make the rooms look more respectable in keeping with the smart curtains. :exactly: As for the new ChairCo it will be used for 'Riser' but not 'Recliner' because it gives me backache. We get what we pay for! Footrest up= good, but backrest preferably limited to move four inches only. It is always wise to practice in the showroom, for comfort sake.
I hope you are more motivated and feeling OK now. Trixie and I send love and hugs to you and Dollyxxxxx

Vannin, you be careful climbing steps! As my doctor once told me after I fell out of a tree, "You're brain is in charge of outdated machinery badly in need of an upgrade!"
Dita, before you move to NZ did you have time to see the rather long, but interesting you tube movie, that I posted here?

Thanks Ciderman. Later today, I found the next curtain easy to deal with and my neck more flexible to look up, while standing on the low stepstool. So no need to climb more than a few inches!!

I am in dire need of a curtain change Vannin, keep putting it off because I cannot get high enough on my step ladder to ensure my safety.
Ciderman I have down loaded the video so I can read it as I need to enable me to take my time. Its very interesting, A friend visited NZ in the 50's,she was fascinated by the volcanoes, and would love to see the film but unfortunately she died a few years ago. Love and hugs from Dolly and me xxx

Dita, I forgot to tell you there was an appointment for the Fire Brigade to call here today. Not the lovely Pierce Brosnan-lookalike-Station Commander this time. Just the usual visit when the smoke alarm has been chirping and I phoned and the replacement alarms were sent with three burly firefighters in smart full uniform, parking the fire engine outside. :rolleye11: :sunglasses:
They stayed half an hour, for their 'leader' to give me his safety talk and for me to answer his questionnaire. :ithanku:  :fing: :uwish:
Poor Trixie ran away, not being accustomed to all the activity and deep voices. If she was still young and :bouncie: silly and had to be rescued from a tree, she would climb to the top at the sight of a rescuer on a ladder! She and I send love and hugs to you and Dollyxxxxx :bighugs: :bighugs:

HI! Vannin, you do seem to have a good supply of male visitors even if only on business, :tantrum2: my grocery's are very often delivered by a lady  and not a hunky male I can have a chat up with :groaner: :( Dolly unlike Trixie gets very excited when I do have a visitor, she hunts out her ball, barks and has a long lasting tail wagging session in anticipation  . Hope you feeling well, love and hugs to you both from Dolly and me xxxxx :bighugs: :bighugs:

But if we all have smoke alarms nowadays (? by law) not many of us are spry enough to renew our own. So if you can obtain the right phone number to book a replacement or inspection - if it has been chirping or even going off when there is no smoke, surely you would get the visit too?
