Morning all, rather dull and cold again. Mustn't grumble. Hope everyone is keeping warm and well. I read groups of eight were going to be able to get together at Christmas and then it was added lockdown would probably go on until February. Can't make top nor tail of this business. Anyway, have a good day all. cheers Penny

Hi on a cold wet evening.....again!
I should say this maybe in a whisper in case I am prematurely cheering. I believe the fireworks stopped earlier this week. :uwish: :nodisturb: :peace: At least until New Years Eve?
Next pleasant surprise! This must be the first year since I was granted Winter Warmth Allowance, that I have not given it a thought; so a fine surprise when I received notification of it today. All previous years, I have been anticipating it and arrival was usually a bit late.
Yes, the days have been long and empty, but occasionally some little tweak happens! Made a start on writing my Christmas cards now, tricky with the Trigger finger, but getting there. Have reduced the usual 60 to 46 because the culled 14 are church people I have had no contact with since March. Some of the remainder are for the USA and Ireland so it is the stamps that are pricey.

Dita I echo your hope that Dolly was not demanding her usual! I hope you are OK. Trixie and I send love to you and Dolly.xxx

Hello everyone. Not very bright outside, still it IS late November ....
I try not to bring up the C word too early but it must be good to look forward to the 2nd December and being unlocked. Even so, the afterwards is all up in the air, plans can't be made for visiting.
Trump is still trumpeting, and one older son has gone down with Covid now, wonder if his Dad will engage the services of the same powers of whatever-it-was he had. If so the son will be healed by tomorrow, IF he really has it. :magnify:  Take care everybody and stay safe.
Dita, wrap up well if Dolly has her way and drags you out! Sending you both love and hugs from Trixie and me.

Dont spend that Winter Warmth Allowance all at once Vannin, Vannin--------Ha ha, just avoiding your chance of getting too excited :) Well! you have already mentioned Christmas cards and I need to get some-----have already bought the stamps.
Looked through my kitchen window and there was a plastic container on my window ledge, retrieved it and discovered it was soup but no indication of who had put it there. THINKING IT MUST BE MY NEXTDOOR neighbour I sent her a text, she immediately sent one back saying she knew nothing about it but she said- Sams been making soup it must be her, I then saw Sam as she was going past, went out and thanked her for the soup--------she didn't know anything either, she then said it must be the other Sam who lives further down the road. I have yet to see and ask this lady?????
Have had a quick game of footy while waiting for lunch to cook today because it looks like rain, also tennis semi is one. Take care everyone, and love and hugsm to Vannin and Trixie from Dolly and me xxxxx

Pfizer and Moderna revealed very strong results with their vaccines.

According to the researchers, volunteers in the trial demonstrated similar immune responses across all three age groups (18-55, 56-69, and 70 and over).

The study of 560 healthy adults – including 240 over the age of 70 – found the vaccine is better tolerated in older people compared with younger adults.

Hi everyone, and especially to you Vannin, I loved what you wrote........ in fact your remark fitted the situation aptly, not going into the reason why because I do not know the lady very well, and I do not like remarking on hearsay, because it was very kind.
So Djoko lost the match yesterday, it was a good one never the less. Take care all and Love and Hugs Vannin and Trixie xxxxx

Afternoon all, a bit late again. Not intentional. Lovely and sunny but very cold. It was white over when I got out of bed. Seems to be a week of trouble for me, Sainsbury's had sent notice that delivery was today between 11 and 12. Then I had a lot of trouble about payment which hubby sorted, took an ook an hour or more then next thing delivery arrived. I ask you, someone fooling about somewhere. :tantrum2: Anyway, just had lunch and hopefully we should have a quiet afternoon. I hope all are well and keeping warm. :grouphug: Now a neighbours cat has decided it wants to move in with us, I would love it but have to think of neighbours. Won't do anything as yet. Have a good afternoon all cheers Penny

Hello all, hope you are warming up now.
My daughter was waiting to hear what her work rota would offer as time off in December, knowing she must work through both Christmas and New Year. So after I jogged her yesterday in order to get the right food ordering in the right slots today, she texted back saying it can be the weekend 19th/20th December.

Having now got this fulltime job with the Express Group after 20 years freelancing, she can't just pick and choose this year! I am fine with those dates and the 25th/26th won't feel any different from all the days since March. Strange how the hermit lifestyle captures us after a while! I now have a total of five orders 'in the bag', booked up to New Year. I expect to do heaps of amendments to the contents every week.
The main thing is feeding the family on their weekend visit. This is only the fourth time since last Christmas.

Dita, I hope your viewing will be more cheerful today, if tennis is still on. Take care, you and everyone,
love and hugs to you Dita and Dolly from Trixie and me.xxx

Hi everyone, it is very late and I am here because I would feel guilty if I hadn't after saying I do try and post every day.
Vannin like you I can understand about being able to have a certain freedom only to lose it, these are the sort of things that hide themselves in the background until a change happens.
I have just been doing my online order and as far as Christmas is going I am in a complete dilemma, really no idea----hey ho... as my daughter in law says. I have only had visitors twice in nearly 2 years and it probably be less this year-------what the heck am I worrying about ???
No tennis Vannin, I only have the Freeview, not a massive sport fan but my husband and I enjoyed the Rugby together :) that depends on your humour :) Love and Hugs to Vannin and Trixie from Dolly and me xxx
