Blood Pressure

Did you read the latest on BP. It is much better to take your tablets at night rather than earlier in the day.

cheers Penny.

I read that too Penny, been wondering if it would be worth trying, I take a beta blocker as well as other BP tabs. funny how they suddenly come up with this sort of thing but after a couple of days publicity they vanish from the media and we never really find out if they work better- or not.

Hmmm. I take mine immediately when I wake, otherwise I'd forget. I can't see me remembering to take them before I go to bed; my brain is too busy sifting through the events of the day as I wind down for sleep. One of mine, Amlodipine, is said by its makers to be equally effective at any time of day; another is a diuretic and I wouldn't want to spend half the night in the bathroom. BP has been fine the last few times it was checked so I'm reckoning, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I agree Andere. Just that OH take BP tablets so I looked on the Internet and found the item. Just put in Blood Pressure Twin, you can read all about it. As hubby also says, he has always taken them in the morning. cheers Penny

Yes I take mine in the mornings.
I had to go for an Asthma check up last week and while I was there she checked my blood pressure because it keeps going in the red anyway she has asked me to make an appointment with the doctor to have him check me over because my blood pressure was well up again.
I will be going on Tuesday and I will ask him when the best time of the day is to take the tablets because on my box it just says (one to be taken daily).

Bur only on your doctor's advice.

Remember how "dangerous" the MMR vaccine is according to "reports".

And I've lost track of whether coffee and red wine are going to kill me this week or make me live forever!

I had to go this morning to see the doc about mine. He did it twice and was rather concerned about it being far too high so I have another tablet to take now with the main tablet and I have to go back in a months time for another check up by him. IF i get any repercussions I have to ring the surgery and ask for him. I asked him what it was reading while in having it done and he said it was 170/101. I also asked him when was the best time of the day to take them and he said preferably morning mainly because if you got into the habit like the first drink of the day it was done with and into the bargain it would help the person taking the tablets with everyday life.
He asked me why I had asked that after being on them for so long and I mentioned what Penny had said and he said stick to what you have always done by taking them at the usual time.
Its mornings for me.

The only way to avoid illness is to not eat and don't breathe! :-)
