I just wish we could have some of your rotten wet weather ! Our bushfires have consumed over a million hectares of land, more this season than the last three years combined. :lala:

Yes Maisie, my grandson was a very poorly lad after his early morning ‘snack’ and usually he eats everything he can get his hands on. :choklit:

Yes I have been watching the news Lacey and the damage the rotten fires have done is horrific.
It has affected humans as well as much of the animal life.
Ours is the same with the rotten floods.

Did the little one get over it Lacey without any lasting effects?

I have popped in early because I have a friend lives in Perth, not heard of Western Australia being affected at the moment but I want to check, its really terrible for them, and we have all the flooding here ?? Is the world getting its own back for all the damage we do to it ???

It certainly looks like it Dita.

Its frightening to think what it will be like in the future. Not for myself but for generations to come.

Ollie is back to his usual self now, Maisie, polishing off a whole punnet of blueberries that his mother had been saving for dessert.

The weather yesterday was quite cool which gave the firefighters a brief respite but high temperatures reaching into the 30s are again forecast for later in the week. Some fires have been burning on a 1000 klms front, others have been deliberately lit. One man was arrested in the Royal National Park near me for impersonating a fireman just after he was said to have lit a small fire which was extinguished before it could do much damage. Reports last night said that one and a half million hectares have now been burnt.

Dita,I haven’t heard of any fires near Perth but the east coast fires have so bad that the media have been concentrating on these.

As long as little-un is OK Lacey that is good to know.

I hope the berk who started a fire there gets jailed for impersonating a fire fighter and jailed but we too have our share of braindead morons.

I just can't understand why any idiot would light fires under the circumstances. I know 'back burning' is sometimes used by firefighters but they know what they are doing, these idiots know nothing!

Unfortunately some of the arsonists are also firefighters which is hard to believe but true. :dunno:

They showed them rescuing a little Koala who had nasty burns and its cries in pain was one of the saddest things to see. Such beautiful wildlife in the world, it just does'nt make sense that they have deserved to be made to suffer like that.

A very moving item in our TV was regarding a woman who rescued a koala at considerable risk to herself. Carried it away from the fire, gave it water before handing it over to experts.

This was on the news here too. She returned to visit the koala and he was fairly lively, considering the burns he suffered.
