"Seniority"

Postby ciderman_nz » Thu Nov 21, 2019 12:00 am

Any body who might have once inhabited an early forum called 'Seniority', remember a man in the USA called Clinton Hammons? I received a much delayed parcel from him yet I haven't heard from him for years. I'm not sure if I posted this on here or another forum but this was the contents of the parcel. It was lost for 6 months at the house that we moved from nearly 2 years ago. The customs declaration said valued $150 and the postage was $69.90.

I inhabited Seniority but never heard that name before. I have been running some usernames through my memory but not sure who was American! He thought a lot of you, looking at the contents.

Bet the poor chap often wonders what happened to his parcel. Have you thought about getting in touch? cheers Penny

The only contact I have is the address of sender on the parcel. I have written a letter (you know- with a stamp!) but have not had a reply after nearly a month.

CLINTON HAMMONS, 66, of Artemus, passed away Monday, Dec. 18, 2000 in the Knox County Hospital. He was the son of the late Matt Hammons and the late Maggie (Smallwood) Hammons. He was a member of the Boone Height Holiness Church. In 1956, he united in marriage with Geneva Johnson who preceded him in death. Later in...

I don't know if this is of any help.Michael. However it is an unusual name, I think.

(The only person I remember well from Seniority, apart from several members who made their way to Rowan Tree, was Silvertop)

Penny, Monika never left us, and posted three or four times early this year and a few times in the previous years.

Monika said '(The only person I remember well from Seniority, apart from several members who made their way to Rowan Tree, was Silvertop)'
Ah Silvertop - always up for a fight, like a neglected mongrel! When I first joined, I ploughed through reading a page or two of him berating another chap, and wondered how people could become so aerated with others they have never met.
I clearly remember Kevin who was quite young for a 'Senior'. His health was poor for a while but it was a shock when we lost him. Stan, Kenneth, and the twin sisters and CD. Victor's Mate who passed away this year, and Arfur, longer ago. Pussycat who seemed very wise.

Thanks for that Monika, it is certainly not a common name but the address on the parcel said he was in Hillsboro, Ohio and if he died in 2000 why have I only just got it, (albeit with a 6 months delay by the people who bought our house)

Would he have intended the items for your museum, do you think?

I have left a message on the Hillsboro, Ohio facebook page. Will see if anything happens. I don't think the items would be of relevance to the museum Vannin, all very 'American'.
