to take a photo of a heron perched on my neighbours roof just now.
By the time I got my I-pad ready he just took off.
I have lived here for 30 years and never seen one of these in this area.

Such a shame Maisie. When we go to feed the ducks etc at the lake/canal we often see one. Hubby rook a good picture some time ago. Lets hope your returns and you can get lucky. cheers Penny

I just hope anyone who has a collection of fish in ponds in some gardens are covered in some way Dita.
I would not trust herons round them.

Herons are quite crafty, there are plenty of natural ponds not far away from me and besides the birds, human fishermen go after Carp too. I haven't a pond in my garden. And I agree I dont trust them either but........
