Sadly I don't have him any more, had parrots all my life, had a grey for 30 years, brought up with a green amazon, after this one died I thought can't have any more, they do take a lot of looking after and I cannot keep a bird shut in a cage, they have to be free-flying, and that takes more hard work.

I have an aviary in the back yard with 3 very elderly Cockatiels surviving , we used to have eight but now reduced considerably, they are over 25yrs old now and I find it pretty hard work cleaning them out , slugs has been the biggest problem this year. They are really my husbands, he loved them and looked after them, of course I haven't the heart to get rid of them now since he's gone so just carry on where he left off. One of them cannot fly now, and I am thankful that the wire is made up with small mesh because thats how he gets around and up to his perch.

Still at it Pooh. I remember this from many years ago, I had a budgie in a cage but could not have more because I had a cat and dog. Yours still look lovely. cheers Penny

Bloody hell Pooh I only have to be near a bird and I am fighting for breath, although I love them especially if you can get them to talk.
Your feathered family must keep you busy.

Not really....thats why I have large aviaries not cages....One load of food once a day between all of them.

Like Penny I remember seeing them all in a similar pic years ago, makes my aviary and amount of birdies even smaller than a budgie cage. Like you too Maisie I have to be careful with my breathing when cleaning out aviary. Pooh they are gorgeous .

Hi Dita.
I only wish I could have a parrot.
I fell in love with them when I was a child and saw a real one for the first time when I was finally sent home from the Sisters-of-Mercy home.
We used to have a chap come round the East End with his barrel organ and he had one that could sing "Knees up Mother Brown."
I always wanted one after that but over time it was found that unfortunately it was not to be and right from that early age if I got anywhere near one I would be gasping for breath.

Its the same with flowers. I love them but they dont love me.

Going of the birds, have you 'two' sorted your communication problems out ??
