Worth a Try

Postby Penny » Fri Nov 27, 2020 3:04 pm

Son bought me a couple of ready meals from Co,op. so tried one today. Very very tasty. Called Coronation Hot Pot. (Betty's Special.) Did a few peas and we both thoroughly enjoyed lunch. Can be cooked from frozen in Micro about 10 mins. Apart from peas perhaps a little bisto gravy would help. cheers Penny :sunglasses:

You have to be selective with Co-op meals, as they vary.

Their Beef in Black Bean Sauce, wit fried rice is particularly Good. Their Cumberland Pie is not!

"Tesco' Finest" range is worth a try, as is Sainsbury's "Taste the Difference" range. Marks Gastro Pub range is head and shoulders above all of them!

If you've got time for a bit of pre-planning, find the product on line and read the customer reviews.

Extravagant I know, but my favourite, not very often, is Waitrose Charlie Bingham fish pie, he also does lots of others, with a bit of veg it will do two meals, price £8, I did say 'extravagant.

Son occasionally pops in with a waitrose one widget. I think they are very good and as we usually have one between us, not too expensive. Sorry you have no Co-Op vannin. cheers Penny

Never, ever, buy fish pie.

It contains all the bits cleared of the processing tables at the end of the shift!

Unidentified fish is like unidentified meat, only fit for pet food!

Another one to try, from Tesco, Woodside Farm pork chops.

Tender and tasty, just as pork used to be.

Better even than the local artisan butchers can offer.
