A Special Day

Postby Maywalk » Fri Dec 02, 2022 10:26 pm

A special day on Saturday the 3rd of December because my lovely friend will be 100 years old.
We have been good friends for over sixty years although we are as different as chalk and cheese but we do share a good sense of humour and we have had many laughs together over the decades and I am more than honoured to have had her in my life.
She must be one of the last WW2 Land Army Girls still around and I always joke with her that her good health was from eating SO many carrots that she dug up when being in the Land Army.
She put her story on my WW2 website some years ago and if anyone is interested this is the pointer to her story. http://www.warvetsweb.oddquine.co.uk/athome/5.htm
The photo of her below was taken before the Covid bug started and was taken at the National Memorial Arboretum.
Pearl has received a lovely card signed from the King and his wife Camilla last week and Pearl must be one of the first in King Charles 111 reign to have received one.
Have a lovely 100th Birthday Pearl. You are a star. x x

A woman at my keep-fit class had a diamond wedding card from Charles and Camilla, nice photo.

Heard from Pearls daughter and she tells me that she is fascinated and over the moon with the present I got her of an original newspaper, printed the day she was born.

Her grandson went straight out and bought one of today,s newspapers to put with it.

That's a lovely photo Maisie!
95! I'm feeling like a kid at 83 not out!
