I tell them in my best 'english' to go away, think there might be a way depending on your phone provider, I know so friends I phone you have to say who you are and press some key before they answer,

It costs I'm afraid penny you need a decent call blocker I haven't had an unwanted phone call on my landline since 2010.

My mobile doesn't normally ring unless the number is in my contact list I get baby one or two unwanted calls a month and the same number of texts

I get a few of these too Penny and I am not very polite when telling the caller where to go but I decided on a different tactic when I had one earlier today.

I said in a very dead voice " This is the burial ground and if you want to book a place call the undertaker."

A click and silence reigned.

I also reply like you Maywalk, but am in a state at the moment my Caller ID has stops working, Plusnet and BT are trying to sort out but it is annoying.

Do remember that the vast majority of these calls are from robots using advanced Hard to detect AI making thousands of calls every minute.

Once they get an answer, any sort of answer, they know the telephone is live and the calls will continue.

Best to try and ignore them altogether

I do normally, when I can see the number, but at the moment I can't.
