A beautiful sunny day but ground still covered in frost.
Been a bit off colour and daughter arranged a visit from the surgery. Just had another call daughter on her way back to me, only left here 20 mins ago but is returning to collect my prescription. All an effort. I Hope everyone is keeping well and warm, and pray folk will start posting again. Did hear it is going to get colder. Keep warm everyone and enjoy the sunshine. cheers.

Good to have family Penny, I have a daughter lives near, and when I have to shout 'help quick' she is there.
My Son lives miles away, phone's once a week without fail, and tells me what to do over the phone!!!!!
What would we do without them.

Good to see you all on deck! We've had a couple of sunny days but they have warned us of another cyclone heading our way probably for next Monday. Auckland haven't cleared up the mess from the last deluge yet! Auckland and further north have had road closures , slips and floods like never before. About 1000 homes are written off and many more need big repairs. I suspect that insurance premiums will go up! We've had heavy rains but no problems for us.

Weather is a strange thing, last summer was extra hot, and ciderman it looks like your summer is a wet one, only hope we do not follow you and have a wet one this year, hope the cyclone is not bad for you.

Cyclone Gabrielle approaches from the north. We are getting warnings to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Prepare for power outages and flooding. The north of the north island still has not finished cleaning up yet and the worst of this cyclone will hit them most as they still have waterlogged soils. Down here in the sth of the north island we will get wet but not so seriously- but not withstanding the advice is still "be prepared".

So sorry I missed this but I sincerely hope your weather does not worsen. Will be thinking of you. Ours looks very dark at the moment and it appears we had a little rain during the night. Fingers crossed for you and yours. cheers

Sunshine at last! Whoopee!! We've been lucky but some have lost their homes and even if insured they will have lost family treasures, computers, photos and family documents. I really feel for them.
