Snow

Postby Maywalk » Thu Mar 09, 2023 9:04 pm

Well we finally have had a fall of snow but hardly anything to get too overwrought about.
When you listen to some of the weather forecasters on the ruddy TV they make it sound as though you would have to get the snow plough out.

My maternal grandma used to foretell the weather by her bunions if they were playing her up. She was more accurate.

We have only had a few sleet showers, North Norfolk, nothing has laid, but it's cold and tomorrow night says below freezing,

As someone once told me "God invented weather forecasters to make economists look good!"
Not sure if it's summer at 10am or 4pm today, could even be at night!
Civilisation is a veneer, easily soluble in alcohol.

They can never get it right Michael and one of the funniest moments concerning the weather on TV happened some years ago when
a female news anchor who, the day after it was supposed to have snowed and didn't, turned to the weatherman and asked,
"So Bob, where's that eight inches you promised me last night?"
Not only did he have to leave the set, but half the crew did too, because they were laughing so hard.
I too was doubled up with laughter.

Poor woman was SO embarrassed. :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:
