Americanised Oliver

Postby Monika » Sat Sep 12, 2009 5:26 pm

Jamie Oliver has some recipes in today's paper; he's in America and, no doubt, thinks he should "talk the talk".

His recipe for 'Surf and Turf' he describes as: "half a lobster and fillet steaks served with an absolutely kick-ass homemade potato salad."

Does it make you want to laugh or cry!

In my head I clearly hear Captain Mainwaring saying "Stupid Boy"
If at first you don't succeed, sky diving isn't for you!

Silly young man who is easily led and impressionable. Obviously he has a lot of growing up to do.

Bit worrying how his kids are going to grow up if he is not an already responsible adult.

Kick ass and Bad ass are well established in British colloquiolisioms so i wouldn't criticise him for that ! (That doesn't mean I personally approve of those phrases though  )

I must admit that his idea of pouring lemon juice over a lamb joint is delicious.
I do it all the time now.
I personally find him very entertaining.

Can't beat James Martin or Jean Christophe Novelli for come-hither eyes though!
