Enjoyable Morning.

Postby Maywalk » Wed Nov 25, 2009 4:44 pm

I went out this morning to get myself a weekend bag to put my knickers and nightie in when we go to Chester on Saturday for an overnight stay. We have got cases and small bags but I wanted a small bag than can be zipped up and that could have a lock through the handles. I got what I wanted and a few more bits besides.
I could not resist going into the bookshop called 'The Works' to have a look round. Its a fascinating shop and the lovely freshness of all the book covers really entice the customer. I saw the 'Children's War' book written by Juliet Gardiner. I already have her 'Animals War' book and I enjoyed the true tales so I treated myself to this one.
I got it for £4-99. It brings back many memories.

That would make an interesting read.

That sounds a very interesting book, Maisie.

We have a Works shop in Bath and its a great place to get cheap art and craft materials!

It is a fascinating read to me Eve and DL because I went through it and I know how the children felt.
Juliet Gardiner is a wonderful writer and takes great care to get her facts right.

Excellent read.

It sounds a good book Maisie. maybe I should buy it and let my children read it, even thought they are both married now.

I love The Works as well, but our nearest one is quite a distance away and I can't get out much at the moment.

It was well worth the £4-99 that I paid for it Liz.

The original price was £20.

What a bargain Maisie. I also remember those war years clearly and being evacuated, so this book would be a good read, and at that price a real bargain.

Yes it was Mo and if you have a place near you it would be worth popping in to see if they have any.
Some super bargains in there.
