Don't want to argue with you Drongo but the UK population is round about 60 Million and the USA well over 300 Million. With the only European University listed is in Switzerland I do wonder what the criteria used was in reaching these rankings.

We should be proud that we have so many world class universities.

I got the info from this website. I expect it will tell you what criteria were used to rank the universities.

It always amazes me that unviersity students in the US are so old when they finally graduate. Our students graduate - usually around 21 but in the US it seems to be 24.

What I can't keep up with are all these 'new Universities' formerly polys or Colleges of Higher Education...like the one near us which is now the New University of Buckinghamshire. Or as the young are calling them "Yoonies".

Sometimes on a weekend evening, I might hear a screeching in the High Street (teenage girls, even when sober, feel a need to scream their conversations when face-to-face) "Wot you gonna be like at Yoony on, like, Monday?"
