We went out to a local riverside inn yesterday for a meal and while waiting for it to be served my lovely d-i-l said to me
'Well its a celebration year this year for you and Barry '
(Barry is my son and her husband ) I looked at her and asked her 'Why'?????

'You will be 80 this year and Barry will be 60 so its certainly a year for celebrations and
we usually all go out for a family meal.'
GULP, GULP, GULP.
OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't feeling that age until it was pointed out to me and my face must have said it all.
My d-i-l thought she had upset me and stood up from the table to come round and give me a lovely hug saying that she didn't mean to upset me in any way. :grouphug:

I wasn't upset but it did bring me down to earth with a bump and makes me wonder if I am still of use visiting forums and keeping in touch with folk.

Age is only a number Maisie - you are only as old as you let yourself be and of course you are of use on the forums. :grouphug:

You will still be of use (and a tremendous asset) to forums in ten or twenty years time, Maisie.

Aim for the century Frolique! And you're always worth having on any forum or dinner table come to that!
When I was in England last year, I was getting off a bus and the old bloke behind me seemed to be having trouble finding something to hold onto as he stepped down so I stuck my hand out thinking, "Poor old codger, he must be nearly 70!"
Then I thought! Who am I to talk! What am I doing!

Thanks Hazel.
I think the blues had set in after losing my dear siser-in-law the week before Christmas but I will snap out of it and probably have a rave up at my 80th.

Michael I will look out for you the next time you come to England and make sure that you help me off the bus. :roflmao:
You never did answer me as to how my cyber family are all keeping.
Are they all well?
