I have had to tell them that it was done nearly 7 years ago when Pete Waterman was looking for WW2 stories that concerned steam trains. I was contacted by his researcher asking me if I would go to the Central Station where I alighted as an evacuee in 1941 after going through the London Blitz and being bombed out twice. It was because we were machine gunned on the evacuee train that he wanted to know about.The Jerry plane that had got through our poor defence system decided to use the train as target practice.
I had NO idea who Pete Waterman was. I asked the researcher who the heck Pete Waterman was and was severely dug in the ribs by my horrified 12 year old granddaughter saying in shocked disgusted tones "Grandma he is on Pop Idol and is a millionaire."
OH BOY!!!!!!!!! I was in the doghouse with granddaughter.
