Internet Radio

Our son and DIL bought one for his 70th birthday this week and its all set up and it is really great. all the stations from all over ythe world with no adverts and little talk. It had to have a router and I bought his for him. We now have uninterupted music when we want it from so many countries including Germay with their Schlager music which we enjoy.

Has anyone got one of these radios?

Google Internet radio. Pick a site offering your music preference. Speakers on.
Pick the little symbol identifying your installation (ie Windows media player) click and away you go.

This is the site I often listen to, (in fact i have it playing Herbie Hancock now.)

This is part of this site which is a good starting point

You should find something there to suit your taste

I bought my son one for his 40th...he says it is brliliant.

I read a feature in a computer mag and bought the one that they scored most highly -
apparently I made a good choice.

I posted earlier in this thread that I listen to radio through my computer using Windows Media Player. What is the difference in having an internet radio and is it any better?

You've got me curious now.

I suppose it depends on how good the speakers are on your PC VM

Yes, the radio is brilliant and OH puts it through his speakers. One problem is that it has cocked up our Internet connection for some obscure reason. OH has been fiddling all day with various things and it refused to connect. He is very good att he tech stuff and can usually sort things out but not this one...yet. May be summat to do with the router we have with it..dunno.
anyroad we are pleased with the quality and the amount of stations you can receive. I listened to a health prog from the States; a woman talking about holistics andher thoughts on life on the planet in all its forms and it was riveting.
The only thing is one has to have the PC on to use the radio abnd wonder if the leccy bill will escalate! :magnify:

We can play the radio without having the PC on and have just found this out. Probs though as for some unknown reason the set-up interferes with our Internet connection and it will not dial up everytime and we need to find out why.

VM, dont you dare :roflmao: As if you would, eh!! :rolleye11: :hide:
