Grandchild stayover!

Postby ciderman_nz » Sat Jul 24, 2010 10:16 pm

Grandson Jack stayed over last night, allowing his parents to concentrate on sister Lily (the 3 year old actress- histrionics an all!). We have a game called Matching Pairs, where you have about 4 sheets printed with various numbers, letters and little pictures, which slide under another board with little squares cut out showing the illustrations underneath. The holes are covered with plastic markers so nothing is visible at first. You then take turns lifting two markers at a time in an endeavour to match the illustrations underneath. After five losses I opted for snakes and ladders! Then I discovered why I had lost 5 games to a 4 and a half year old! On the box it says "For 4 to 8 years". Dammit! I'm 70!
While we were playing snakes & ladders, he announced that "adults can't jump". I said what do you mean? "Well when you get old you can't jump". I can jump, I insist. So we then have to stand in the middle of the room and jump together! He thought about that and said "OK. You can't jump until your 55!"
What can I say to that?

Okay, Michael ... that's one of those "keeper" photos ... needs to be in a regular photo album rather than just on a disc somewhere. Great photo. Jill did one heckuva job! :)

I had mine stay the other week but he's 14. I enjoyed having him very much and admit to spoiling him a bit with all his favourite food etc..but it was nice to be just the two of us again after he'd gone.
Just ourselves to please.... bliss.
