Saturday lunch at Babylon

Postby vannin » Sun Jul 25, 2010 8:39 am

Yesterday I treated my little family to lunch at one of Richard Branson's places, when I met them in London. My daughter and s-i-l have birthdays coming up and Charlie has recovered from his chickenpox, though the marks have more fading to do. He is very good in restaurants where he is always made a fuss of.

It was Babylon, the Kensington Roof Gardens, which does special offers for Saturday lunchtimes, and I was previously there on May 29th with a Saga group of seventeen (14 ladies and 3men)

The food and service are excellent, the 'extras' pricey of course. Last time an Irish coffee cost £9.50 which was half the cost of the three-course lunch! Yesterday they served a free welcoming glass of champagne, knowing there were birthdays!

After making a tour of the gardens, we strolled in Kensington Gdns before I caught the 27 bus to get my train.

That sounded lovely Viv.
Nice to know that you had a get together with the family. :)

I am off out today for Sunday lunch which suits me down to the ground because I loathe cooking although I do it most days.
