How's your typing?

Postby caroljoyce » Sat Sep 04, 2010 6:58 pm

I'm a 2 finger typist and not very good. I have to look at the keyboard and even then I frequently hit the wrong key. I never did any in my life until I had the computer ...but it's no excuse really, I've had it 5 years now and still typing with 2 fingers!

What kind of a typist are you?

It was part of my job for many years - slowing down a bit now but still quite fast.

Only when I look at the screen do I go back and correct everything!

I taught myself as a student and I am probably the fastest typist in the West but not all that accurate. Friend who had never typed in his life decided to do a touch-typing course at evening class, prior to getting a computer. I was surprised how well and quickly he got on, accurate too -- but not as fast as wot I am.

In business I always had a secretary near to hand that use to take pity on me and would come out with the phrase "should I do that for you "

But now since having a computer I'm to two finger typist and still not very good.

Only one finger for me, but my work colleagues tell me it's the fastest finger they've ever seen :rolleye11:

I'm about the same as Katkins, mine was mostly numerical work, but I am quite fast I suppose, and I don't bash hell out the keyboard like men do.

I was a trained copy and audio typist and used to get good speeds. When I first came out of hospital I seemed to have lost my skills and I was hitting all the wrong keys and hardly used the PC for a while. Gradually it came back again, and although I guess I am not as fast or accurate as I was, I am doing pretty well.
