What a great morning we had at the hospice although the children were NOT there.
They were spendng the day with their parents because there were SO
many visitors it would have confused them which was understandable.
I enjoyed the walk through the hospice to see what facilities they had got and I
must admit that I had to keep wiping my eyes because the staff were SO dedicated to the
children and had so much love for them it showed in everything they were telling us.
One place that REALLY impressed me was the music room.
The children didn't even have to play an instrument to make music because as they
raised their hand over the special set up it played music electronically.
The main carer said that once the child found that they could do that it gave
him/her confidence because they were doing it themselves.
He mentioned that it would be VERY expensive if anything went wrong with
the equipment and my son who is an electronics engineer offered his
voluntary services if ever they had any problems.
The main chap was over the moon at the offer so some good came from it.
It was a wonderful insight into how they looked after these poor little souls and I
am SO glad that I went.
There were quite a lot of folk there and it was difficult to take a full photo of the wall
so I have copied it out of ther magazine just to show how spectacular it looks.
There was SO much to see but with having lots of folks there it made it awkward
to take many photos.
This is one of the brick as close as it could be taken without distorting it.
This is one of Cliff and I standing either side of it.
Its the fourth brick down second from the left.
